On Wednesday, December 14, 2011, faculty and staff members at Stewart Heights Elementary School met in the school library for their annual holiday get together.
Tasty treats were enjoyed after Phyllis Richardson, retired third grade teacher, returned thanks.
She reminded everyone to remember the reason for the holiday season and to be thankful for the gifts we are all blessed with.
During the get-together, Mr. Ray Rogers, district superintendent, came over to present a retirement gift to Mrs. Nancy Stackhouse.
Mrs. Stackhouse has been the school’s secretary/bookkeeper for twenty-seven and one-half years. Mr. Rogers thanked her for her dedication to the district and faithful service to the students and teachers at Stewart Heights.
He presented her with a lovely pewter bowl. Mrs. Jayne C. Lee, principal, also recognized Mrs. Stackhouse and thanked her for all she has done to assist her over the past twenty-six years.
During Mrs. Stackhouse’s tenure, over 3,200 students have come through the doors at Stewart Heights.
She has certainly been an asset to everyone with which she has worked. Mrs. Lee presented Mrs. Stackhouse with a handmade bracelet and matching earrings in recognition and appreciation for her dedication and years of service to the school, district, students, faculty/staff, and above all her.
Everyone in attendance wished Mrs. Stackhouse well in retirement.
After gifts were opened and displayed, those in attendance enjoyed the tasty treats and fun time of fellowship.
