The Dillon Christian School Warriors boys and girls basketball teams each earned wins over Emmanuel Baptist on Friday, with the Warriors defeating the Crusaders 64-33 and the Lady Warriors finishing 32-20.
In boys action, Dillon Christian outscored Emmanuel Baptist in every period, going 16-9 and 19-4 to lead 35-13 at the half. The Warriors added 16 points to the Crusaders 12 in the third, and outscored Emmanuel Baptist 13-8 for the final score of 64-33.
Tyler Davis led the Warriors with a game-high 15 points and 10 rebounds. Kin Melvin earned 12 and Will Brown scored 10, with Neil Melvin adding nine; Matthew Price adding eight; Jeremiah Cribb, six; and and Dorian Sellers, four. Neil Melvin grabbed 13 rebounds and Kin Melvin made six assists.
Jared Carmona led Emmanuel Baptist with a team-high 13 points, with Zannie Phillips adding 11, Tyler Rogers adding six, and Bryan Lee earning three.
Dillon Christian’s record improved to 1-5 with the win.
In girls action, the Lady Warriors outscored the Lady Crusaders in each of the first three periods, going 8-4, 11-5, and 6-2 for a 25-11 lead heading into the fourth. The Crusaders rallied for nine points to Dillon Christians seven in the fourth, but it wasn’t enough to close the gap, with the Lady Warriors winning 32-20.
Lauren Lee led Dillon Christian with 16 points, including two three-pointers and three two-pointers. Lee also made five steals, three assists, and three rebounds.
Kylee Sullivan earned nine points for the Lady Warriors, going 3-for-4 in three throws and scoring three two-pointers. Sullivan grabbed seven rebounds and made two assists.
Emily Prutzman added four points for Dillon from two successful two-pointers, and made a team-high 15 rebounds with one assist. Amanda Bass sank a three-pointer and made four steals, four assists, and two rebounds. Courtney Miller made four rebounds, and Hailee Keen made two in the win.
The Lady Warriors record improves to 1-6 with an 0-1 record in SCISA Region 4AA.
