Ladies at Union Baptist Church in Temperance Hill are sharing their talents to bring comfort to hospice patients in Dillon and Marion counties.
The ladies have been busy crocheting and knitting blankets and prayer shawls.
They have been working as a group for approximately six months.
While the group is relatively new, some ladies in the group like Marie Collins have been doing this for quite some time. Collins started crocheting blankets about six years ago, a hobby she has found relaxing. She started sending the blankets to nursing homes for patients with no visitors.
Don Luehrs, a local hospice community educator, said receiving these handmade items means a great deal to the patients.
