The Charlotte Woodcarvers Club is pleased to announce that Dr. Terrell A. Crowley, a native of Dillon County, South Carolina, is exhibiting his art work in the highly regarded Charlotte Fine Art Gallery in Charlotte, North Carolina. Charlotte Fine Art Gallery provides quality original works of art in a diverse range of style and media from artists throughout the country.
Dr. Crowley’s art focus is abstract and realistic stylized wood carving sculptures. He uses a large variety of fine woods from throughout the world with many hardwoods from South America.
He is recognized as an expert in the carving and beautiful finishing of wood sculptures of unique and creative designs. His work has won 1st place awards throughout the Southeast in major shows including Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina and Maryland.
After graduating from Latta High School in 1947, Dr. Crowley attended Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington and obtained his undergraduate degree from Fresno State University in Fresno, California.
He was awarded his Masters and PHD in Bio-Chemistry from the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. His professional experience included various Research and Development Bio-Chemist positions in large US pharmaceutical corporations including Abbott in North Chicago, Illinois.
He is married to Rosalie Essich from Westminister, Maryland. Dr. and Mrs. Crowley lived in Bonita Springs – North of Naples, Florida after early retirement and it was there that Dr. Crowley became interested in woodcarving as an art form.
They currently reside in Charlotte where he is an active member of the Charlotte WoodCarvers Club. The Charlotte Fine Art Gallery is owned by Artist Joni Purk and is located in Carmel Village at 7510 Pineville-Matthews Road, Suite 12A, Charlotte, NC 28226.
