Services for Marguerite Elizabeth “Ibbie” Sapp will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday in Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
Miss Sapp, 86, died Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at the McLeod Hospice House in Florence.
Born in Dillon, SC, June 22, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Harrison Sapp and Martha Guill Sapp. She last attended Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church, and was retired as an Administrative Assistant with Dillon District II Schools. She graduated from Dillon High School in 1944. Shortly after graduation she began work at Dillon High School for J.V. Martin as his Secretary.
Survivors include her nieces and nephews, John Sapp, Donald Sapp, David Sapp, Jim Sapp, Lauren Sapp, Sharon S. Campanese, and Iris Brinker; professional colleague and lifelong friend, Helen Culp; friend from childhood and devoted caregiver, Lee Carolyn Bethea Johnson “John”.
Miss Sapp was preceded in death by her sister, June Sapp Rogers; brothers, Harry Sapp, James Sapp, Jack Sapp, and William Sapp.
Memorials may be made to Thornwell Orphanage, 302 S. Broad St., Clinton, SC 29325 or to the Dillon County Animal Shelter.
