A deputy car wrecked on Thursday afternoon going through a storage barn and striking a house. The wreck occurred on Highway 9 East.

A wreck involving a Dillon County Sheriff’s deputy car occurred on July 21st at 4:15 p.m. on Highway 9 East.
A 2003 Kia driven by Wyshonda Bethea and a deputy car driven by Deputy Kevin Daniels were traveling on No. 9 East.
The Kia started to turn on Pineland Road and the deputy car, with lights activated, was attempting to pass, and they collided at the intersection, according to Lance Corporal Sonny Collins of the S.C. Highway Patrol. Collins said it is listed as under investigation.
In his report, Daniels said that he was responding to an officer in distress call in Lake View. He listed that in addition to hitting the car, he hit a steel pole filled with concrete, a storage building, hedges, and a brick house belonging to Latrae Woodberry before coming to a stop.
