A driver of a soft drink truck was robbed at a Latta Grocery store on June 9th at approximately 4:30 a.m., according to an incident report by Sgt. Bobby Jones of the Latta Police Department.
The man pulled up at the store, stocked the machines, and pulled the money from them. When he walked to the rear of his truck, a black male walked up behind him, pointed a firearm to his right side and asked for the money, the report states.
The driver gave him his wallet, but there was no money in it. The man then demanded to know where the money was and the driver told him the money from the machines was in the truck. The suspect walked the driver around to get the money with the gun pointed at him. The driver gave him the bags of money, the suspect pointed the gun at him and then ran down the Whittington Street side of the store. There was estimated to be less than $100 in the bags.
The man was wearing all black and was approximately 5’7”-5’9”.
Anyone with any information about this case is asked to call the Latta Police Department.
