Recently, Pyerian Baptist Church of Floyd Dale hosted an appreciation luncheon for the members and families of the Floyd Dale Volunteer Fire Department.
Rev. Larry Zaky of Thomas Memorial Baptist Church of Bennettsville, SC was the guest speaker offering words of encouragement. Lance Corporal Michael Dickens of the South Carolina Highway Patrol gave his testimony and expressed appreciation of how their different departments often worked together in difficult situations.
Pastor James Orr of Pyerian presented a check for $600 to the Fire Department on behalf of the church for community support.
The church and the Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary then presented new Bibles to each firefighter. The Bibles were a special firefighter’s edition with each firefighters name engraved on the front cover.
A delicious meal was served after the ceremony and then photos were taken in front of the church with the department’s fire trucks.
