Mrs. Eunice Jane Rogers Rogers, 74, widow of Harold A. Rogers, died Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at her home after an illness.
Mrs. Rogers was born May 17, 1937 in Horry County, a daughter of the late Marvin Roy Rogers and the late Daisy Jane Henderson Rogers. She had been employed with Eva’s Restaurant in Summerville for 31 years. Mrs. Rogers attended Mullins High School, where she was a member of the girls’ basketball team. She was a former board member of the Disabilities Workshop of Charleston County and a former board member of the S.C. School for the Deaf and Blind. Mrs. Rogers was a member of Miles Road Baptist Church in Summerville.
Surviving Mrs. Rogers are: 2 Sons: George “Tim” Rogers of North Charleston and Marvin “Kim” (Dana) Rogers of Conway; her Grandchildren: Crystal Gayle Rogers of North Charleston, Amanda (David) Crabtree of Summerville, Charles (Leah) Batiz of North Charleston and Jessica Batiz and David Sullivan of Somerset, Pa.; her Great Grandchildren: Jayden, Abbigail, Jayce and Chloe; her Sisters: Bernice Rogers (James) Meekins of Dillon, Shirley Rogers (Cliff) Jackson of Dillon and Ginny “Cootsie” Watford of Florence; Special Friends: Suzy and Lydia Arents of Summerville; and a Special Sister-in-Law: Jeanette Rogers of Mullins.
Mrs. Rogers was predeceased by a son, Roy A. Rogers and a grandson, Roy “Bo” Rogers.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 24 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Cox-Collins Funeral Home of Mullins, with Rev. Ronald Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Tranquil United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening, June 23 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Cox-Collins Funeral Home.
