The Dillon County Council held a called meeting on May 11th to take up several issues.
The council approved the purchase of some security cameras for the Dillon County Detention Center. The low bid from Stanley Security Solutions for $11,310 was approved by council on a motion from Councilman Joe Johnson.
The council tabled action on committing money for a spec building until they learn if Marlboro and Marion Counties are planning to commit. County Administrator Clay Young will write a letter asking the other counties about their intentions.
The repair of the Dillon County Chamber building was discussed. There are issues with water in the basement and the roof.
The council passed the third reading of a flood ordinance.
The council also approved Bo McInnis for the Dillon County Public-Private Partnership Board. He will replace Robert Johnson who resigned.
