According to Deputy Solicitor Kernard Redmond, on May 2nd, Assistant Solicitor Shipp Daniel filed the rule to show cause. Redmond said they were asking the court to revoke Hutto’s bond. Hutto had a $50,000 surety bond, and Redmond stressed that one of the explicit conditions was no contact with the victims.
Redmond said they had “overwhelming evidence” that Hutto had continued to maintain contact with one of the victims and that there had been sexual activity between them. Redmond said there was also a video of Hutto meeting with one of the victims at the Treetop Apartments in Dillon.
At this point, Redmond turned it over to Lt. Crystal Moore of the Latta Police Department, who went further into the details.
(These details will be in the Tuesday, May 10th issue.)
Judge Paul M. Burch ordered that Hutto’s bond be temporarily revoked and that Hutto be immediately taken into temporary custody. The order will be done and when it is signed, Hutto will be under house arrest at his grandfather’s home. If he is caught off the premises or in possession of any communication device, computer, or cell phone, he is to be immediately taken into custody and placed in jail.
