Services for Cleve Junior Sweat will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday in Floydale Mission Church with burial in Piney Grove Church Cemetery in Latta. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Sunday in Cooper Funeral Home.
Mr. Sweat, 89, died Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the Pines Nursing Home.
Born in Dillon County, July 9, 1921, he was the son of the late Cleve Sweat and Maggie Cook Sweat. He was the widower of the late Gertrude Lane Sweat.
Survivors include his sons, Danny (Sue) Sweat, Carlos Sweat, and Bobby Sweat, all of Dillon; daughters, Patricia Sweat of Florence, Dorothy Sweat, and Betty Sweat, both of Dillon; step-daughters, Joyce Carter and Earline Owens, both of Dillon; brothers, Woodrow Sweat of Fayetteville, NC, and L.G. Sweat of Fairmont, NC; sister, Sister Yarbourough of Fayetteville, NC; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Sweat was preceded in death by his daughter, Doris Sweat; his brothers, Wallie and Ravenel Sweat; and his sisters, Maybelle, Princelle, and Blanche Wilkes.
