Dillon’s Lady Wildcats took on the Loris Lions on Monday and fell by six points, 36-30.
Loris outscored Dillon the first three quarters with scores of 9-5, 10-8, and 10-4 to put them up 29-17 going into the fourth. The Lady Cats rallied to go 13-7 in the final quarter, but it wasn’t enough to close the gap.
The Lions were led by Antranette Green with 14 points and Katrina Bellamy with 13. Green and Bellamy also picked up 12 rebounds each. Sherece Bellamy added five points and Kadedra Cox and Bernicke Johnson each added two points to the win.
Dillon was led by Chelsea Frazier with a game-high 28 points and Tiffany Damison with two points. Frazier had one three-point goal.
The Lady Cats season record falls to 5-14 overall and 2-7 in Region 8-2A. Loris is 7-13 and 3-6 and was scheduled to take on Aynor Wednesday for a shot at third place in the region.
Scores and stats for the boys game were not available at press time. Prior to Monday’s game, the Wildcats were 7-11 overall and number three in the region with a 4-4 record. A loss to Loris would drop them to fourth place, but keep them in the playoffs.
