The Dillon Christian School’s Lady Warriors stumbled this week against Trinity Collegiate on Thursday and Byrnes on Friday.

The Warriors played host to Trinity Collegiate on Thursday in a make-up game from January 11, and fell to the visitors 39-24.

Trinity outscored Dillon 14-6 and 11-9 in the first two quarters to put them up 25-15 at half time. The teams each added two in the third before Trinity wrapped up the fourth by outscoring Dillon 12-7 to secure the win by 15 points.

Trinity was led by Allie Young, who had a team high of 16 points, and Caitlyn Boggs with 10. Young also had eight steals. Also scoring for Trinity were Janie Fuller, Gabbie McElveen, and Brenne Fisher, each with four points, and Sarah Harwell who added one point to the win.

The Lady Warriors were led by Morgan Graham with a team-high 14 points, three successful three-pointers out of three attempts, 13 steals, and six total rebounds.

Amber Wiggins added seven points for DCS, with 17 rebounds and eight steals. Lauren Lee also scored three points for the Warriors, hitting a successful three-pointer. Lee also had three rebounds, one steal, and one assist.

Kathryn Brown made four rebounds and two steals, Emily Prutzman had three rebounds, and Kylee Sullivan had two defensive rebounds and one steal.

On Friday, the Lady Warriors traveled to Florence to take on the Byrnes Schools Trojans and came up short, 68-50.

The two teams alternated scoring, with Byrnes dominating the first quarter 30-6 and the Warriors claiming the second quarter 16-7 before the Trojans returned to form in the third, outscoring DCS 26-10. The Lady Warriors won the fourth 18-5, but they never managed to close the gap that Byrnes opened up in the first.

Byrnes was led by Bree Jett with 21 points and Mary Gregg with 20. Neghan Osborne added 18 points to the win, and Amy Galloway added four; Parker Smith, three; and Logan Gibbs, two.

Morgan Graham led the Lady Warriors with 25 points, sinking three three-point shots out of six attempts, and picking off three rebounds and 10 steals. Graham also made three assists.

Amber Wiggins added eight points to the win, with 21 total rebounds, two steals and an assist. Lauren Lee added five points and made four rebounds, four assists, and one steal.

Amanda Bass, Emily Prutzman, and Kathryn Brown each added four points for the Warriors. Bass made four rebounds and an assist; Prutzman made five defensive rebounds, two steals, and two assists; and Brown picked up seven rebounds, four steals, and an assist. Kylee Sullivan also made two rebounds, one steal, and an assist.

The Lady Warriors record falls to 2-10 overall and 0-9 in the region.

Next up, Dillon Christian is scheduled to travel to Williamsburg Academy on Tuesday before traveling to Marlboro Academy on Friday, January 28.
