Kernersville-Millie Wilkes Taylor, 85, departed Earthly life for Heaven, Thursday, November 11, 2010, after a long and beautiful life, due to advanced age.
Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held 2:00PM Saturday, November 20, 2010 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Mt. Gur Cemetery.
A native of Marlboro County, South Carolina, Mrs. Taylor was the daughter of the late Ida Huggins Wilkes and Arch Wilkes. A  devoted wife and mother, she was also a faithful Christian and prayer warrior. She had retired following 30 years of caring service as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Mrs. Taylor attended Abundant Grace Tabernacle as long as her health permitted. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, of 39 years, Jefferson Monroe Taylor.
Survivors include three daughters Mrs. Bonnie Taylor DeMoss and husband James, Sr. of Kernersville, NC; Mrs. Linda Taylor Bowman and husband Charles of Darten, NC; Mrs. Violet Taylor Money and husband William of Pfafftown, NC; Two Sons Mr. Kevin Jeffery Taylor of High Point, NC and Mr. Larry Wayne Taylor of Gaffney SC.
Mrs. Taylor was beloved sister of Ruby Wilkes Alford (Cole) deceased, Cole Hinson Wilkes (Mabel) deceased, and Carl Wilkes deceased (Ellen) surviving.  Mrs. Jefferson Monroe Taylor Loved Deeply her brothers and sisters, In-law, Mrs. Sue Hayes (Ellis) deceased, Mrs. Dessie Hood (Thomas) deceased, Mrs. Lillian Lindsay (Prentiss) deceased, Carabo (Edward)Surviving, Mrs.Corrie Parker(Prentiss) deceased, Mrs. Addie Conyers (James) deceased, Mrs. Vermell Odom, Surviving (Alex) deceased, Mr. J.D. Taylor (Ruby) deceased, and Mr. Jimmy Taylor deceased.
In addition she is survived by 14 nieces and 10 nephews, all of whom were loved and adored by their Aunt Millie.
Special Gratitude is expressed toward Horace Alexander Taylor and Vera Taylor for 20 years of faithful and loving care of Millie’s Mother Ida Wilkes.  Jeff, Millie and children shared many happy moments together with family and friends here in South Carolina for this their children wish to express their profound gratitude, love and devotion.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00PM until 7:00PM Friday, November 19, 2010 at the funeral home.
