Each year, Marlboro County Rescue presents an award for a heroic or life-saving act. Any person in Marlboro County, or one of its bordering counties, is eligible for this award. The award will be presented in December at Marlboro County Rescue’s Annual Christmas Party. Rescue and EMS personnel are eligible as long as the act was performed without the help of fellow rescue workers or the act involved a risk of personal injury. This year the timetable for consideration will run November 15, 2010 thru December 3, 2010.
Nominations should be written in narrative from and be as descriptive as possible, concentrating on the life-saving act, persons involved, victims, date, place and time. Included with the nomination should be the names and addresses of the victim(s), nominee(s), and any witnesses. Supportive articles and pictures will also be helpful. All nominations will be verified. All nominations will also remain confidential, and become the property of Marlboro County Rescue.
An award will be presented to the successful nominee(s), and their names will be placed on a permanent plaque at Marlboro County Rescue’s base station.
All nominations must be received by December 6, 2010 to be considered. Mail nominations to: Marlboro County Rescue Squad, Attn: Berry-Belcher Award Committee, PO Box 123, Bennettsville, SC 29512.
