Rob Teal was the guest speaker at the Mount Calvary Brotherhood, WMU, and BYU meeting held on Monday, Nov. 1, at 7:00 p.m. at the Fellowship Hall at 405 Mount Calvary Road, Dillon.
Teal inspired everyone with his personal testimony.
Rob is married to Risha, and they have a 5-year old son, Bridges, and a late son, Bayler, who passed away during the last baseball college world series with South Carolina being triumphant.
The Teals reside in Bishopville, SC.
Chad Holbrook, associate baseball coach for South Carolina, reached out to the Teals in 2008, just after Bayler was diagnosed with neuroblastoma.
Bayler was invited to throw out the first pitch at Carolina Stadium in March.
Everyone was impressed with Bayler’s spirit throughout. Bayler never complained or asked why me. He was a real trooper.
The Teals are Christians and were able to handle this tragedy by placing their faith in God. Bayler’s condition worsened in April.
The Gamecocks dedicated their series against Georgia to Bayler, and the Gamecocks won!
As Bayler’s condition continued to worsen, the Gamecocks played the NCAA Tournament for Bayler.
The Gamecocks players visited Bayler whenever possible at the hospital.
The Gamecocks continued to play for Bayler and won the College Baseball World Series the same day Bayler passed away.
