At the October meeting, Councilman Phil Wallace made a motion to pass Ordinance 10-12-Prohibited Signs on first reading. The ordinance does not allow temporary signs, such as political signs, on state right of way. They would have to be on private property. Churches and other organizations get permission from the state to place these signs. Councilman Randolph Gurley seconded the motion, and it passed unanimously.
