Mrs. Mary Frances Hattaway Lewis, 68, widow of James Oliver Lewis, died Sunday, September 26, 2010 at Marion Regional Hospital after an illness.
Mrs. Lewis, a loving mother and homemaker, was born June 24, 1942 in Mullins, a daughter of the late James Curtis Hattaway and the late Mary Alene Driggers Hattaway. She retired from Anvil Knitwear as a seamstress, after more than 20 years of service. Mrs. Lewis was a member of Dillon Congregational Holiness Church.
Surviving Mrs. Lewis are: a son, Phillip Lewis and his wife Lisa of Nichols; 3 grandchildren, Curtis Lewis, Blake Ellis and Summer Ellis Vause; 2 great grandchildren, Caden Vause and Memphis Vause; 2 brothers, Roger Hattaway and his wife Brenda of Mullins and Charles Hattaway of Marion; a sister, Joyce Williamson and her husband James of Marion; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 28 at the Chapel of Cox-Collins Funeral Home, with Rev. John Bryant officiating.
Visitation was held Monday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Cox-Collins Funeral Home.
