The United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit has confirmed that former Latta mayor Lenneau Berry has filed an appeal of his federal prison sentence.
The official that The Dillon Herald spoke to did not know if and when the appeal will be heard.
Berry was sentenced last month in federal court in Florence for defrauding the Social Security Administration and Hartford Insurance Company.
Berry was sentenced to 36 months imprisonment and three years supervised release and ordered to pay $243,741 in restitution and an additional $6,263 to Hartford Insurance Company, and a special assessment of $6,000.
