JV Martin Jr. High School has received the School Improvement Grant for $2,176,476 to support high quality, sustainable school improvement activities over a three year period.
JV Martin is implementing a transformational model that consists of a foundation program, Success For All, in reading and mathematics.
This model incorporates up-to-date technology and teacher and student incentives. Parents and community members will be offered involvement in this model through workshops, parent conferences, visitation days and a Success For All Parent Night.
The Success For All Program works to ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn and achieve at the highest levels by incorporating research-proven elements such as quality teaching strategies based on the Cycle of Effective Instruction; regular assessment and data monitoring to inform decision making; building capacity for effective leadership through on-going professional development and coaching; and creating a network of school-wide student-support strategies.
Success For All ReadingEdge has been implemented by all JV Martin teachers to target 100% of our student body during the first sixty minutes of each instructional day.
PowerTeaching Mathematics is an interactive program that will be used as a teaching tool to enhance math curriculum
