The Latta School Board of Trustees met on Tuesday, August 10th.
Highlights of the meeting included:
– Barbara Smith presented the revisions made to the school year 2010-2011 budget due to the County Board of Education’s recent decision to lower the percentage of local revenue our district will begin receiving July 1, 2010.  She stated that the total revenue amount and the total amount of expenditures are balanced for school year 2010-2011.
– Dr. Kirby gave a brief update on the Pee Dee Land Trust.  Further information will be presented at a later date.
– Donna Taylor presented a status report on the General Fund budget for May and June.
– Esther Rogers presented the results of the Adequate Yearly Progress report and gave an update on the Palmetto Assessment of State Standards.
– Larry Legette gave an update on the improvements being made in the district facilities.
– Dr. Kirby presented a list of the superintendent’s goals for the 2010-2012 school years.
