Services for Grace Gilbert Byrd were held Sunday at 3:00 P.M. in Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with burial in Bethesda Southern Methodist Church Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home.
Mrs. Byrd, 86, died Friday in Marion County Medical Center.
Born in Dillon County she was the daughter of the late Rass Gilbert and Mary Elizabeth Lane Gilbert.  She was the widow of the late William J. Byrd and was a charter member of Oak Grove Community Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Florence  (Henry) Weatherford and Ellen (Jackie) Godbold of Latta, Georgia (Jeff) Rouse of Greenville, N.C., and Dawn (Steve) Peacock of Blenheim; sons, Virgil (Margarget) Byrd of Marion, Jerry (Susan) Byrd and Berry (Janet) Byrd of Latta, Larry ( Christine) Yow of Stanfield, N.C.; 29 grandchildren and 28 Great Grandchildren; special friend, Ann Smith.
Mrs. Byrd was preceded in death by daughter,  Doris Byrd;  grandchildren Terry Clifton Cox and Kimberly Dawn Byrd.
