The City of Dillon will hold a public hearing and final reading of its budget on Thursday, July 1st at 7 p.m.
The General Fund budget is $4,977,624, and the water/wastewater budget is $3,245,378. The budget calls for a 20 percent increase in the residential garbage rate, which would mean a change of $3.32 from $16.60 to $19.92 per month. The budget also calls for an increase in wastewater rates for all users. Rates for inside users will increase by 10 percent, an increase of about .20 cents per 1000 gallons. Outside users will increase about .40 cents per 1000 gallons. Perdue’s rate will increase from $1.97 to $3.53 per 1000 gallons or an increase of $1.56 per 1000 gallons.
The meeting is open to the public.
