Dillon County has hired a new Economic Development Director.
Tonny McNeil of Dillon has been selected for the position. He is a graduate of N.C. A&T State University in Greensboro, NC with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
From May 1999 until January 2007, he was employed as a process engineer with Wix Filters Corporation, Automotive Oil/Air Filter Division.
From March 2007 until he was hired for this position, he was employed as a mechanical engineer at Kimberly-Clark Corporation, Huggies/Pull-ups Division in Beech Island, NC.
McNeil said it is with great pride that he accepted this position with Dillon County.
County Administrator David Mobley said that McNeil’s hiring was a collaborative effort between the S.C. Department of Commerce and Dillon County. He said the Department of Commerce was instrumental in recruiting, advertising, interviewing and making a recommendation to the county administrator for this position. He said McNeil was interviewed and was hired. He said he hopes that McNeil will make great strides as economic development director in Dillon County.
