The old Family Inn in Rowland burned Sunday afternoon—burning and then starting again hours later and was still burning Monday. The motel is located on Highway 301 North near the Dillon County line. Two of the four sections burned. These included both pods of the modular rooms. The motel/lobby and gas station did not burn. Local fire department, Dillon County Station Four, assisted the Rowland Rural Fire Department fighting the fire by bringing in water with a tanker. The motel did not have power. The matter will be under investigation. (Photo by Buddy Ray/Dillon County Station Four)
