Tennessee’s Madison Central battled their way back from the loser bracket to claim the 2013 Arnold E. King Dixie Darlings World Series Championship last week.

In Wednesday’s games, Louisiana, who had gone undefeated in the World Series, fell 15-14 to Florida and Tennessee defeated North Carolina 22-11 to make a three-way tie. Tennessee eventually claimed the title.

Sabine, Louisiana, and Holmes County, Florida, finished as the co-runners-up in the World Series. Virginia’s Halifax American received the James E. “Obie” Evans Sportsmanship Award.

In the other Dixie Youth divisions, South Carolina’s Hanahan won the 2013 Charles R. “Zack” Black Dixie Angels Traditional World Series, while Alabama’s Montgomery American won the 2013 Dixie Angels X-Play World Series.

South Carolina’s Hanahan also won the 2013 Richard T. Murphy, Sr., Dixie Ponytails Traditional World Series, and Louisiana’s Alexandria National won the 2013 Ponytails X-Play championship.

Alexandria National also won the 2013 Carl O. Boelte/J.D. Painter Dixie Belles World Series and the 2013 James A. Webb/Clarence Jordan Dixie Debs World Series.
